To Place a Grounding Grid

A Grounding Grid (GG) is a net of copper wires that connect objects to the ground (i.e., light poles, handrails, fences, etc.).
  1. Select the Place Grounding Grid icon from the 3D Design Ribbon to display the Place Grounding Grid dialog.
  2. Select the Wire type, Welding (X), and Welding (T) from the respective drop-down pick-lists.
  3. In the Grid group-box, select the Method, then enter a value for the Depth, and specify the X and Y coordinates.
  4. Press Place grid and follow the status bar prompts to place the Grounding Grid.
    Note: Grounding grid elements consist of connections (wires) and welding points (represented graphically as bullets), and are automatically added to each intersection point made up of three or more wires. You can use the Settings tool to adjust the bullet radius.
  5. (Optional, after placing the grid) Press Place wire and follow the status bar prompts to place the wires.
  6. (Optional, after placing the grid) Press Place conn. and follow the status bar prompts to place the connection wire from the grounding grid to a structure.
